Sea Lion 5K: Run for Rocks
Help make our Sea Lion habitat POP!

Join the Aquarium of Niagara in improving our rescued and non-releasable sea lions’ habitat. The Aquarium is adding artificial rocks for our sea lions to display more natural behaviors and improve their wellbeing. This year, support your pinniped pals by running on a beautiful course along the Niagara River or running trails at your own pace with our virtual option!

Live Race: The race will start and end at Great Lakes 360, a new addition to the Aquarium's campus, and will utilize the New York State Parks trail along Niagara Gorge. CLICK HERE to view the USATF certified course map. Runners, walkers, and strollers are welcome to participate; children under six can participate for free.

Virtual 5K: You can participate any time between September 1st and September 29th. Virtual runners are not eligible for physical awards.

All participants who register by September 17^th will receive a Sea Lions Rock magnet and an official Sea Lion 5K t-shirt. A small quantity of extra t-shirts will be distributed on a first come, first served basis. Virtual runners may pick up their t-shirt at the Aquarium of Niagara during normal business hours.

Awards: Overall top male and female runners will receive a certificate for a free animal encounter. Top runners in each age group will receive a special painting made by one of our sea lions.

Join us for an afterparty hosted at Whirlpool Commons with healthy snacks and live music! Admission to the Aquarium and Great Lakes 360 is included in registration. Sea lions will be off exhibit as we make improvements to their habitat.
